I couldnt print out the contextual connection so i am posting it here.Abstract Families can be found anywhere and in anyone. According to Pipher, the role of family is changing. There are many types of families including nuclear and formed families. A nuclear family is your biological family consisting of a mom, dad, brothers, and sisters, while a formed family is a group of people who are taken in by others. Sometimes the most functional families are not the biological, but the formed families. Families are “formed” through trust, compassion, like interests, and need. Formed families may be necessary for abused or abandoned children. You don’t need to be blood related to be considered a family. Pipher says, “When all adults were responsible for all children, people grew up healthy.”Contextual Connection In this text, it’s all about all the different kinds of family that people can have. Either biological or surrounding people. I think that if there is someone or a group of people that you can trust and or have a love for them, you can consider them as family. My best friend considers my family as her own. Even though she does have a family and they do love her, she often has family problems so she comes to me and my family for comfort. She is always welcome and just walks in as if she does live at my house. I completely agree with what Mary has to say. I did enjoy this text because to me. Family is very crucial to have in our lives. They are the people that we should be able to go to when we are having any kind or problems. I really didn’t like how she wrote this even though I got what she was trying to portray, it just wasn’t too exciting for me and I had a hard time reading it.

The article Witch Hunting talks about the time in 1692 in Massachusetts where many witches were killed. 13 women and six men were hanged. One man died under heavy weight. When the people are suspicious if women are witches they killed them without a reason. U.S. Sen. Joseph McCarthy wrote the most famous modern “witch hunt” story. Most of the people in the U.S believe his story because of his prominence. Four years late McCarthy’s conduct was condemned because of his unethical tactic.
This text talks about witch hunting and I don’t think it’s good to kill people without a reason. Some people just killed women because they thought that these women were witches but they didn’t really know. I don’t believe in voodoo or witchcraft and I think it’s really sad that these people were killed. Some reasons why they were killed was the red hair. I think the people who killed the women didn’t think about what they were doing or they just followed a rule.
Article about ethics in school:
Anna Weinstein talks about ethics in school and the five principles of ethics which are: do no harm, make things better, respect others, be fair, and be loving. I really agree to these principles because I think everyone is similar. No one should be excluded. Weinstein also talks about cheating in class. I think it’s not useful to cheat because you cannot cheat in the future for your job. If you’re not honest in school you will be not honest in your job. I think it is horrible how many students cheat in class. If the students read this text maybe they think more about cheating and ethics in school.
Hey Mrs. Child, sorry I have a question when does Neal Shusterman come to the Sandy Library or did he already come?
